Is this a good place to post if you brew your own beer?

Some guys at work and I just brewed a Porter and we bottled about a week and a half ago.

Last night we did a tasting to see if it was ready or not, however it was still very flat. We expected it to be more carbonated than it was after a week and a half and are concerned.

Does anyone have any experience in brewing Porters? Does it normally take longer to start the carbonation process? We are going to wait a couple more weeks before we try again, but we are nervous that we brewed a dud!

I saw your post here, and my husband brews beer regularly so I asked him about this for you!

He says that with a porter you should just be patient. In his experience it took a porter a slightly longer time to start the CO2 process.

Anyway, my buddies and I have been thinking about getting into this. Are there stores you can go to that will help you out or what? Maybe a good website somewhere? Or maybe someone can post something here?
